The crafts market was opened in 2020 AD and its building was designed in the Al-Ahsa style of architecture. Its area is more than 12 thousand square meters. The artisan market is located in the center of the historic district of Hofuf. This project was established by the Al-Ahsa Municipality to preserve heritage and handicrafts and as an extension of Al-Ahsa’s accession to the Creative Cities Network of UNESCO in 2015 AD in the creative field of handicrafts and folk arts. The market contains 6 rails (the railroad of goldsmithing, carpentry, blacksmithing, wickerwork, tailoring, kharaz, runners, and bashout). It also contains a celebration square, a restaurants and cafes square, and a private academy for teaching handicrafts by highly experienced craftsmen.
