Sahoud Palace

It was built on a high plateau located in the western side outside the old city of Al-Mubarraz and opposite Al-Hazm neighborhood in Al-Mubarraz. This castle was called Sahoud in relation to a large cannon erected on one of its towers. It is likely that its construction took place during the first period of the Bani Khalid rule in the late eleventh century AH. It consists of several towers, a cellar for weapons, a mosque and a water well. The most famous siege the palace faced was by the Ottomans.
